Biography
MARLON. At 18, Marlon became Junior Composer in Residence for the Residence Orchestra.
A few years later he won the first prize in the prestiguous Michele Pittaluga guitar competition.
At the occassion of her 25-year reign, he played live on television for HM Queen Beatrix. He graduated
from the Royal Conservatory with the exceptional grade "10 with disctinction". Since 2010 he is professor for guitar at Fontys University in Tilburg.
CONCERTS.
Marlon plays solo and with others around the world in festivals, concert halls, theaters
and at important occassions. In the last years he played concerts in 18 countries, including

CONSERVATORY PROFESSOR.
From age 22, Marlon was associate Guitar Professor for 3 years in the preparatory class of the Royal Conservatory of The Hague,
until he went to study with Professor Joaquin Clerch in Germany.
Since 2010 Marlon is Guitar Professor at the Fontys Conservatory in Tilburg, The Netherlands.
MUSIC COACHING.
Many students take music lessons with Marlon, in order to be accepted to conservatories and to prepare for competitions.

AWARDS.
Marlon won more than 20 prizes in 6 countries, including First Prizes in the prestiguous Michele Pittaluga International Guitar Competition in Italy,
the Dutch Young Music Talent Foundation, the Zwolle International Guitar Festival and the Princess Christina Composition Competition.
In 2009 he received the European Juventus Award in Cambrai, France for international outstanding young artists.
CURRENT STUDIES.
After his Konzertdiploma at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, Marlon was invited and qualified for Artistic Research at
the University of Leiden and the department of Advanced Studies & Research in Music of the Orpheus Instituut Gent (DocArtes).
At present he is working on his disertation under supervising Professors Frans de Ruiter, Joaquin Clerch, Arthur Kampela and Steve Mackey.
EDUCATION.
Master degree in Guitar (grade: "10 with distinction"), studied with Professors Zoran Dukic and Enno Voorhorst at the Royal Conservatoire, The Netherlands.
Konzertdiploma Guitar (with distinction), studied with guitarist/composer Professor Joaquin Clerch at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Bachelor Degree in Composition, studied with Roderik de Man and Martijn Padding at the Royal Conservatoire, The Netherlands.
Composition classes with: Steve Mackey, Steve Reich and Louis Andriessen.
